Pre Treatment Tips for Skin Treatments
For Facials:
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Try to avoid direct sun exposure for 24–48 hours before your facial to prevent irritation and ensure optimal results.
- Avoid Exfoliation: Refrain from using harsh exfoliating products for at least 3 days before your facial to avoid over-sensitizing the skin.
- Arrive with Clean Skin: Make sure your skin is free of makeup or heavy skincare products. This will help the esthetician perform the treatment more effectively.
- Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your facial to ensure your skin is well-hydrated, which enhances the treatment’s effectiveness.
For Laser Treatments:
- Avoid Tanning and Sun Exposure: Refrain from tanning or prolonged sun exposure at least 2 weeks before your laser treatment. This helps reduce the risk of complications. Do not use self-tanner 2 weeks before your appointment.
- Discontinue Retinol/Retinoid Products: Stop using products containing retinol or retinoids for at least 5 days before your treatment to avoid skin sensitivity.
- Shave the Area (if applicable): If you’re getting laser hair removal, shave the treatment area the night before, but avoid waxing or tweezing.
- No Chemical Peels: Avoid any chemical peels or exfoliating treatments at least 1 week prior to your session.
For Microneedling:
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of the sun for at least 48 hours before your microneedling appointment to avoid irritation and pigmentation concerns.
- Stop Using Active Ingredients: Discontinue the use of products with active ingredients such as retinols, AHAs, BHAs, or vitamin C for 7 days before your treatment.
- Cleanse Your Skin: Arrive with freshly cleansed skin, free from makeup, lotions, and creams, to allow the treatment to be as effective as possible.
- If you have facial hair, please shave the day before your appointment. Do not shave on the day of appointment and be very mindful when shaving to avoid any cuts.
